Tracy NovickI
Co-Teacher | Snow Lions
Tracy joined Middle Way in 2021-2022 as an aftercare provider and frequent substitute teacher. In 2022-2023, Tracy joins us full-time as co-teacher for the 5- and 6-year-olds of the Snow Lions. In addition to the depth of her classroom experience, we were especially drawn to Tracy’s belief in embracing a child’s natural curiosities and supporting their unique way of experiencing and learning. Tracy is mother to Hugo, one of our Fawns.
The Catskills have long been a special place for me. Having recently moved to the area with my family from Brooklyn, I am delighted to be working in a school that is surrounded by such beauty, and takes such a thoughtful approach to working with children and preparing them for their place in the world.
I have a BA in Theater from Northeastern University and a MS.Ed in Early Childhood and Childhood Education from Bank Street College. I have 12 years of teaching experience and have worked with children between the ages of two and eleven in a variety of progressive schools in New York City. While the majority of my teaching has been in early childhood, I enjoy working with children of all ages and am fascinated by the lens through which children see the world and interact with it and others. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening and exploring the woods with my husband Nick, our son Hugo and our dog Olive.
