Tracy NovickI

Co-Teacher | Snow Lions

Tracy joined Middle Way in 2021-2022 as an aftercare provider and frequent substitute teacher. In 2022-2023, Tracy joins us full-time as co-teacher for the 5- and 6-year-olds of the Snow Lions. In addition to the depth of her classroom experience, we were especially drawn to Tracy’s belief in embracing a child’s natural curiosities and supporting their unique way of experiencing and learning. Tracy is mother to Hugo, one of our Fawns, and is the partner of our Dragons and Owls Assistant Teacher, Nick.

The Catskills have long been a special place for me. Having recently moved to the area with my family from Brooklyn, I am delighted to be working in a school that is surrounded by such beauty, and takes such a thoughtful approach to working with children and preparing them for their place in the world.

I have a BA in Theater from Northeastern University and a MS.Ed in Early Childhood and Childhood Education from Bank Street College. I have 12 years of teaching experience and have worked with children between the ages of two and eleven in a variety of progressive schools in New York City. While the majority of my teaching has been in early childhood, I enjoy working with children of all ages and am fascinated by the lens through which children see the world and interact with it and others. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening and exploring the woods with my husband Nick, our son Hugo and our dog Olive.
