Tracy NovickI
Lead Teacher | Wild Horses
Tracy joined the Middle Way School in 2021-2022 as an Aftercare provider and frequent Substitute Teacher. In 2022-2023, Tracy transitioned to full-time as Co-Teacher for the 5- and 6-year-olds of the Snow Lions. This year, she guides the Wild Horses as Lead Teacher. In addition to the depth of her classroom experience, we were especially drawn to Tracy’s belief in embracing a child’s natural curiosities and supporting their unique way of experiencing and learning. Tracy is mother to Hugo, a student at MWS!
I am so delighted to be joining the Wild Horses class for the 2023/2024 school year! To continue this journey of learning and experience with many of the same students and families from this past year, as well as with new ones, has stirred up so much excitement in me. These past two years at Middle Way I have had the opportunity to work in many classrooms and alongside many of the teachers, which has deepened my understanding of the values and mission of the school. I am so grateful to be a part of this community and to be even more involved in the school this coming year.
I have a BA in Theater from Northeastern University and a MS.Ed in Early Childhood and Childhood Education from Bank Street College and have been teaching for 13 years. I’ve worked with a variety of ages in progressive schools throughout New York City, but the majority of my teaching career has been working with pre-K through third grades. I have several years of experience teaching first grade and I am looking forward to working with the Wild Horses this year.
