Tracy NovickI

Lead Teacher | Wild Horses

Tracy guides the Wild Horses class as their Lead Teacher. She first joined Middle Way School in 2021 and soon became a Co-Teacher for the Snow Lions. In addition to Tracy’s depth of classroom experience, she brings a belief in embracing a child’s natural curiosities and supporting their unique way of experiencing and learning.

I am so delighted to continue as the Lead Teacher for the Wild Horses class! Throughout my years at Middle Way School, I have had the opportunity to work in various classrooms and alongside many of the teachers, which has deepened my understanding of the values and mission of the school. I am so grateful to be a part of this community.

I have a BA in Theater from Northeastern University and a MS.Ed in Early Childhood and Childhood Education from Bank Street College and have been teaching for 15 years. I’ve worked with a variety of ages in progressive schools throughout New York City, but the majority of my teaching career has been working with pre-K through third grades. I have years of experience teaching first grade and I very much enjoy working with the Wild Horses.

I am fascinated by the lens through which children see the world and interact with it and others. I am passionate about children’s literature, science and inquiry-based learning. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening and exploring the woods with my husband Nick, our son Hugo, and our dog Olive.
