Andrew English
Auxiliary Programs Coordinator
Andrew joined the MWS team as our first Auxiliary Programs Coordinator. He is the key contact for Aftercare needs. He’s also helping to shape our Afterschool Enrichment offerings and expand our unique Buddhist-inspired Summer Program. As we continue to widen the scope of our programming beyond the school day, we’re happy to welcome Andrew and benefit from his skillfulness and cheerful attitude!
Originally from Rochester, NY, I attended SUNY Brockport, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I followed with my Master’s degree in Public Administration and then worked as a graduate assistant for the Department of Public Administration.
I spent my summers in the Catskills staffing the summer camp program at Woodland Playhouse in Phoenicia, NY. In 2023, my partner and I relocated to the area, allowing me the chance to substitute teach within Woodland Playhouse’s experiential environment. It was there that my passion for progressive education took root. I also completed an internship at the Catskill Center where I honed my skills for information-sharing, learned more about robust collaboration, and nurtured a thriving local community. I am beyond excited to continue weaving these interests together as the Auxiliary Programs Coordinator for Middle Way School.
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, birdwatching, and camping. I’m also an avid sports fan of baseball, football, and rugby. Get me chatting about college rugby—I spent two years as the president of the Men’s Rugby Club!
