Anaka Decker
Lead Teacher | Bunnies
Anaka joins Middle Way School as Lead Teacher for the Bunnies class—our youngest preschool learners. Her background in holistic education brings skills for empathetic listening and relational awareness. We are delighted to have Anaka as a part of our growing team.
I began working with children when my son was just over a year old. I dived right into the world of early learning, driven by a desire to deepen my understanding of child development, early childhood education, and how young children learn best.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and a certification in Waldorf teaching, which has allowed me to explore a holistic, sensory-rich approach to learning. Through my teaching in Waldorf schools, I have come to know that mindfulness is at the core of healthy relationships. I have learned so much by simply being present, aware, and attentive to young children.
I’m grateful to be in an environment that values mindfulness during the earliest years of childhood, paving the way for positive emotional regulation throughout life.
I am delighted to join the Middle Way community—both as a teacher and a parent. I look forward to bringing my passion for social-emotional learning, childhood development, the arts, and movement to the youngest class at Middle Way School, guiding them with compassion and joy.
