Amy White
Advisor
Middle Way School is honored to have Amy White serving as our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Advisor. With extensive experience in education, curriculum development, and equity work, Amy has been instrumental in supporting our teachers, administrators, and families in our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and just learning environment for all.
In addition to her work at Middle Way, Amy is furthering her journey as a student in the Educational Leadership program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her studies are deepening her expertise and bringing valuable insights to our school community.
Amy recently presented at Harvard’s Alumni of Color Conference (AOCC) on the theme of The Power of Critical Hope: Reset. Reimagine. There, she introduced “Roots and Wings: A Black Boys’ Leadership Initiative,” a program she developed to blend Black history, communication strategies, and high-level negotiation skills, teaching participants how to navigate conflict, advocate for themselves, and safely engage in situations that may threaten their well-being.
We celebrate her new position at Harlem Children’s Zone as the Elementary School African-American History teacher, where she will also be creating new curriculum.
We’re grateful for Amy’s dedication, wisdom, and commitment to creating spaces where all students can thrive. Her work continues to shape and strengthen our interwoven exploration of dharma-based concepts through a lens of social justice.
