Abbey Von Knoblauch
Aftercare Provider
Abbey joined Middle Way in 2021-2022 to support our growing aftercare program. A Hudson Valley native, Abbey comes to us with years of experience supporting local families with raising and teaching their children. Her time spent behind the scenes on Broadway has informed her creative work with children, while her deep knowledge of the Catskills landscape allows her to lead outdoor adventures. We are thrilled to have Abbey join us. Welcome Abbey!
What a delight it has been to be invited into the Middle Way community!
I’ve had the absolute pleasure of growing up in the Hudson Valley, Catskill mountains and have fallen in love with the Woodstock/Saugerties area.Throughout my life I had always found a close relationship to the arts, theatre and outdoor life. I’ve spent time attending the Scenic Arts, creating sets and backdrops for Broadway, which then inspired me to dabble in the acting world along the way. I’ve always considered myself a creative person! It wasn’t until I moved to Woodstock ten years ago, nestled myself in a cabin and decided to take on a passion of mine that was always apparent, caregiving.
Throughout these years I’ve held the joy of becoming immersed full-time in our community of families, helping raise and teach so many of these children that help shape and create this life we share. During these years of experience, I often would hold group shares where many of our small friends would gather together for a day of creating art, music, performing plays, telling stories, exploring the forests, finding true connection with the natural world, while feeling secure and safe to be one’s complete unique self. Watching these kids over the years build bonds and lasting friendships has been one of the many fulfillments of my childcare journey.
It brings me much satisfaction to join the Middle Way team. I believe the value that I bring exists from my long history of connection with this area, but most importantly, being a part of the growth of the families of our community for so many years. My approach to intuitive learning and allowing the space and tools for one to play and evolve their individuality, while also understanding the benefit of each one of us working together as a team. Respecting and nurturing our inherited relationship with the earth has always been a staple in my interrelation to caregiving as well. I look forward to sharing my experience and inspiring those along the way!
