Health and Safety Coordinator
Kelly joined Middle Way for the 2021-2022, and not a moment too soon! She is responsible for overseeing all of the protocols outlined in our Health and Safety Plan, particularly as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are so fortunate to have a staff member dedicated to this critical operational area, especially someone with Kelly’s strict attention to detail and unfailingly calm demeanor.
I am excited and honored to be a part of the Middle Way School community as Health and Safety Coordinator. As a parent of school age children and a registered nurse I see the enduring correlation between the health of body and mind and educational outcomes. We want our children to thrive in a healthy community and environment and experience the world together. Which is why I am so happy to lend my skills to the families, educators, and administrators of The Middle Way School so that we can have another year of in-person learning and experiences amidst the ongoing pandemic and beyond.
I am a registered nurse, graduating from Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing with an additional BA in Psychology from Hunter College. Before serving as a Clinical RN in the Department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, I was a Safety and Quality Lead there, responsible for incident management and quality assurance. About myself, I live in Red Hook with my husband, two children and pup Macy. I have a daily weaving/mending practice and love to birdwatch and garden. I am at my best, when I am in nature.
